About Me

I am an International school teacher based in Singapore with my family. Preparing dinners and inviting friends and relatives for dinners is a common practise at home. I was looking for my recipe note book the other day and realised that the note book was falling apart and that there were no pages left to write any more of tested and tried recipes. I was thinking of rewriting the recipe note book when it struck me that I should just be blogging. So the inspiration for the blog has been my old and falling apart recipe book that I have maintained ever since I set up home and had to dive into cooking. With laptops and ipads in Singapore, there is really no need for traditional written recipe books . Being familiar with blogging, I just felt it right to extend it cooking and baking. I am not much of a baker, but aspire to be a good baker.

I hail from Kerala though I grew up in New Delhi, India. I am very familiar with traditional southern Indian Kerala dishes as well as northern Indian dishes. I now live in Singapore where there's a fusion  of eastern and western food. My own cooking and baking, I should say more cooking than baking, is a fusion of all my life experiences.

I hope to share my kitchen experiences with all my readers and at the same time be able to go back and look up my own recipes that I may have forgotten.

As this blog was started right after Christmas 2012, the logo picture on the home page shows the traditional Kerala Christmas plum cake that I had baked.

Enjoy!
